The pandemic is giving us many opportunities to step out of our comfort zones. It’s creating barriers to potentially keep us away from the things we love and are healthy for us – but we don’t have to accept those barriers.
For example, I’ve resisted teaching online classes for years. Seriously, seeing myself on video? Ack. But, teaching is not just what I do. It’s who I am. The pandemic is pushing me to connect with you in new ways and the joy of that connection far outweighs my discomfort. Let’s be together in any way we can. Even a virtual yoga class. (Especially a virtual yoga class.) Here’s your Zoom Q&A:
Q: Does it cost $$$ to use Zoom?
A: No. If you’re doing to attend a class, Zoom costs you nothing. If you want to host meetings there are a few different subscription options. Download Zoom at https://zoom.us
All of my classes are at https://zoom.us/j/9958876451 Class details and times are at https://www.elenbahr.com/calendar/
Q: How much do classes cost?
A: $15/class, $48/four classes, $80/eight classes. If you can’t afford to pay, PLEASE attend as my guest. PLEASE. If you’d like to purchase a class pass: https://squareup.com/store/elenbahr
Q: What do I see on the screen?
A: The image below shows some of the things you’ll see me do, cause I talk with my hands. I won’t be demonstrating any movements so that I can watch all of you in your individual frames. I can teach better and be more helpful that way.
Q: What if I’ve never done yoga in a studio?
A: Great! Try it in the privacy of your own home. The other folks in the Zoom class will be watching me, not you. I’ll get you where you need to be with the movements. You truly can’t do it wrong.
Q: Do I need yoga props?
A: Nah. You don’t even need a mat. Some of my classes (details at elenbahr.com under the classes section) will give options for other props but they’re not necessary.
Q: How long will you teach online classes?
A: Indefinitely. For sure as long as we are physically isolating and even longer if folks ask for it.
